Chingaari – the official launching pad for Anuj Sawhney

Anuj Sawhney’s first film was ‘Nayee Padosan’, but he considers Kalpana Lajmi’s ‘Chingari’ to be his official debut and launching pad. In his earlier film ‘Nayee Padosan’, he had to share the space with many other actors. In ‘Fun2shh’ too, he did not get a platform where he could completely showcase his acting skills and talents. But in ‘Chingari’ he got a chance to prove himself as a talented actor for the first time.
Anuj Sawhney says that he is thankful to Kalpana Lajmi for giving him such a big break in her film. In ‘Chingari’, Anuj Sawhney plays the role of a village postman who falls in love with a prostitute named Basanti (played by Sushmita Sen). He is very sensitive about their relationship and fights to get justice for Basanti and the other prostitutes.
Anuj Sawhney had to undergo many ups and downs during the shooting of the film due to certain misunderstandings between Anuj and Sushmita. However, everything ended smoothly. Anuj Sawhney says that Sushmita is an extremely brilliant and intelligent actress.

Anuj Sawhney says that he would love to do some more films with Kalpana Lajmi and continue to prove his potentials and entertain his audience.
